I have seen taps which appear to colour water on TV. What they actually do is turn on a coloured LED light when you turn on the tap and the beam of light is transmitted through the water making the water look as though it is coloured. These taps can be extremely expensive but they can add a very stylish look to your kitchen or bathroom.
When I was browsing the web the other day, I wondered how these lights in your taps could be powered. Water and electricity do not make a good combination and I assumed that they were mains powered and consequently extremely expensive and difficult to install since they would require both a plumber and an electrician. In my research I discovered, to my surprise, that you can convert your taps with an inexpensive add-on which gives the same effect.

There are a few types these fittings and some appear to require a tiny battery while others are powered by the stream of water running through the tap. Most of them offer two colours. Blue for cold water and red when the water coming out of the tap is above a certain temperature. There are a few that offer more colours and you can also get some multicoloured shower attachments that should make bath time fun for the children or anyone else who enjoys a bit of light hearted fun.

I was struck by how cheap these fittings can be. I saw one for £7.50 though, to be fair, the reviews were not brilliant to say the least. A typical price for a two coloured water tap attachment seems to be around £10 which is pretty cheap for anything these days.
These fittings seem to be fairly new on the market but I can imagine they will be a popular Christmas present in the months ahead. I shall definitely be getting one of the tap fittings and I rather fancy coloured water from the shower as well. It may be pointless and just a bit of fun but why not add a little fun to your life and you can be sure it will make your visitors smile when they see coloured water coming out of your tap.

I am embarassed to admit that I haven’t ridden a bicycle in a long time. In fact I figure it must be about forty years since I sat on a bike. One question I asked myself before I started again was whether the old saying about, ‘You never forget how to ride a bike’, was true. I can categorically state that for me it was absolutely true. I can still ride a bike but it did feel a little strange to have the wind in my face as I pedaled along.
Cycling Makes You Breath – A Lot
What you do forget is that it can make you puff. The smallest of hills that go almost un-noticed when you are driving a car can be a real challenge and you suddenly feel a lot more sympathetic to all those cyclists you cursed as you drove past them muttering things like, “Why can’t you go in a straight line” and “Keep to the left and out of my way.” When you are cycling it isn’t always easy to keep going in a straight line when the road is full of lumps and bumps and the hills have a tendency to make you wobble and meander about. So to all car drivers I would say please leave a little more room than you would when passing a car when you are passing bicycles.
Feel The Benefit Of The Exercise
It is good to feel the benefit of all that exercise though and there is an enormous sense of satisfaction gained from getting somewhere under your own steam. It is surprising how quickly you can get around too and using a cycle for transportation and fitness makes sense. For short journeys where you don’t have to carry a lot of shopping a cycle is a great way of getting around and improving your general health and fitness. If you need to carry stuff with you you can purchase all sorts of cycle accessories like cycle baskets and panniers to enable you to carry a bag or two of shopping.
Traffic can be a worry when you are cycling and some car drivers act like you are nonexistent. There are often alternative routes that are not so busy and these are muh more enjoyable for cycling than the main A roads tend to be. Invariably the scenery is more interesting and you get a chance to enjoy it rather than having to worry about keeping out of the way of lorries hurtling along just a few feet from your shoulders.
So, if you haven’t cycled for a few years why not clean up that Bike and ride her again again. If you don’t have a bike then you can buy a new one for the cost of a few months gym membership and a good bicycle should last for many years.

Finding the right lawnmower should be easy enough but there are several things to consider when looking for the best lawnmower to suit your grass cutting requirements. Having had the misfortune to buy a small lawnmower that eventually failed a year or so ago I was looking for a hover mower that could cope with a medium sized garden.
Benefits Of A Hover Mower
One of the benefits of a hover mower is that the weight of the lawnmower is taken by the cushion of air produced from the spinning blades. This makes the lawnmower very light and easy to move around and makes them excellent for cutting difficult areas like grass banks, underneath overhanging shrubs and confined areas.
When cutting your lawn, the weight of the mower is carried on the cushion of air produced by the hovercraft effect of the blades spinning around, but when the mower is turned off the lawnmower rests on the ground and you have to carry the whole weight of it. This means it is best to have a lightweight mower that is easy to carry around but you still need it to be powerful enough to do the job and cut your lawn.
Finding the right mix of power, convenience and light weight can be tricky but I seem to have found the right choice with the Flymo Turbo Lite 330.
The Flymo Turbo Lite 330 looks, at a glance, very similar to other Flymo lawnmowers. It has the standard Flymo bright orange colour to the cutting deck and engine cover but unlike most Flymo lawnmowers this one does not have a grass collecting box. Instead of collecting the grass it chops the blades of grass into small pieces which are then spread across the ground with the benefit that it puts the goodness back into the ground instead of being removed to a dump somewhere.

The Flymo Turbo Lite 330 has a powerful 1150 watt electric motor which drives a 33cm steel cutting blade which is generally considered to do a better job that the plastic cutting blades fitted to some of the smaller and less powerful lawnmowers around these days. The plastic material used for the bodywork on Flymo products is incredibly tough and many Flymo lawnmowers are still in use after many years of being knocked about during the rigours of cutting grass and bumping across driveways etc.
Having searched the internet the best prices I found were available on Amazon.co.uk
and with their excellent reputation I had no hesitation in purchasing from their website. delivery was fast and the Flymo Turbo Lite 330 seems to be the perfect electric hover lawnmower for my needs.
The customer reviews of the Flymo 330 lawnmower seem to be overwhelmingly positive which is very reassuring because some other lawnmowers are less popular with their customers and I look forward to many years of using it.
