Finding the right lawnmower should be easy enough but there are several things to consider when looking for the best lawnmower to suit your grass cutting requirements. Having had the misfortune to buy a small lawnmower that eventually failed a year or so ago I was looking for a hover mower that could cope with a medium sized garden.

One of the benefits of a hover mower is that the weight of the lawnmower is taken by the cushion of air produced from the spinning blades. This makes the lawnmower very light and easy to move around and makes them excellent for cutting difficult areas like grass banks, underneath overhanging shrubs and confined areas.

Finding the right mix of power, convenience and light weight can be tricky but I seem to have found the right choice with the Flymo Turbo Lite 330.

The Flymo Turbo Lite 330 looks, at a glance, very similar to other Flymo lawnmowers. It has the standard Flymo bright orange colour to the cutting deck and engine cover but unlike most Flymo lawnmowers this one does not have a grass collecting box. Instead of collecting the grass it chops the blades of grass into small pieces which are then spread across the ground with the benefit that it puts the goodness back into the ground instead of being removed to a dump somewhere.

The Flymo Turbo Lite 330 has a powerful 1150 watt electric motor which drives a 33cm steel cutting blade which is generally considered to do a better job that the plastic cutting blades fitted to some of the smaller and less powerful lawnmowers around these days. The plastic material used for the bodywork on Flymo products is incredibly tough and many Flymo lawnmowers are still in use after many years of being knocked about during the rigours of cutting grass and bumping across driveways etc.
